Mowe becomes the 79th Branch of The Nigerian Society of Engineers AS Engr. Adesanoye emerge as its Maiden Chairman

By Gideon Tobiloba The Nigerian Society of Engineers continues to grow in size and strength as another branch was added to its already widely circulated branch network in Nigeria. Mowe, a town in Ogun state that borders Ogun and Lagos state became the 79th branch of the Society. The new branch was formed by engineers who believe there should be one in the Mowe and Ibafo environs, and it was inaugurated by the national president himself in person of Engr. Adekunle Mokuolu FNSE who particularly came to launch the new branch. In his opening address, he started by congratulating the new branch members for their hardwork. He emphasized that, engineers resident in some other communities have tried in the past to be inaugurated like this but failed. He said their application for a branch to be formed at Mowe enjoyed early success and he is not surprised they have gone this far in a very while. Experts believe elecrricity kills more than many diseases in Nigeria today calling for prompt action on electricity safety. This is the focal point of this year's Engr Otis Anyaeji Annual Distinguished Lecture organized in conjunction with the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Maitama Branch, Abuja, which has as its theme “Electrical Safety: Contemporary Issues, Challenges & way Forward in the Power Industry and other Sectors”.
